FAMILY
Plan a special day for your family. How many things can you find to do in your community or nearby that don't cost anything? Try to make your day fun and educational. Tell your Junior Grange what you did. |

CRAFTS
Make entries in 4 different crafts in a local Junior, Subordinate, Pomona or State Grange contest. (Entries in the Junior and other Grange departments are eligible.) |

INSIDE THE EARTH
Draw a diagram of the inside of the earth. (If it was cut in half, what would you see? Identify the layers and write a brief story about them. Share information at your Junior Grange meeting. |

ESCAPE PLAN
Be prepared in case of a fire in your home. Outline a fire escape plan from your home with your family and plan a place to meet after you get out of the house. Practice this plan once a month for at least six months. |

READING
Read 10 books at your reading level. (Pre-readers may have the books read to them.) Create an illustration about your favorite story and show it at a Junior Grange meeting while you tell your Junior Grange about the a book. In your own words explain where the book takes place, who is in the story, and why you like it. |

BUILD SOMETHING
Ask one of your parents or someone in your family to work with you to make or build something that can be used in your home or yard. Show it (or a picture of it) at your Junior Grange meeting and tell about it. |

| Badge No. 7 |
ANIMAL CARE
Take care of an animal ( it may be a pet or live stock) for at least 3 months. Care to include feeding, grooming, health care, etc. Make a poster telling the animal's name, age, favorite foods, how much it grew in 3 months, what you did to care for it, and if you will continue to care for it or who will. Include pictures if possible, and share your poster with your Junior Grange. |

FAMILY TREE
Make a family chart starting with one set of your grandparents, their children, and their children. List full names, birth dates, city and state where each was born. If information on grandparents is not available, start with your parents. Try to keep the chart going as your family grows. |

WORSHIP
Regularly attend Sunday School, Church or Worship Service for at least 6 months. Also volunteer to help at Vacation Bible School, camp, or any special activity sponsored by your faith.

COMPUTER
Using a computer, create a spreadsheet to record one or more of the following: 1) How you use your allowance, 2) Inventory of your toys or games, 3) List of items in a collection, 4) Any other similar application. Use a minimum of 10 rows and 5 columns. Share your printed spreadsheet with your Junior Grange and explain it to members. |

CREATE A BADGE
Create your own merit badge and give written requirements to your Junior Leader. Also mail a copy to your State Junior Director and the National Junior Director. You may also include a drawing of the design for the badge. |

JIG SAW PUZZLE
Create a jig saw puzzle (wooden, cardboard, plastic, paper, etc.) Degree of difficulty or quality appropriate for your age. Display at your Junior Grange meeting. (You should be able to put it back together.) |

ENDANGERED SPECIES
Research a tree or plant that is on the Endangered Species List (preferably in your area) and present an oral report to the Junior Grange. In the report, explain what areas this plant/tree is endangered and what areas it is not endangered. Also explain what is being done to help. Plant any kind of tree in honor of Arbor Day. |

DINOSAURS
Investigate 3 types of dinosaurs. Provide a written report including when they roamed the earth, their size and weight, what they ate, common and scientific name and share it with your Junior Grange. Make a dinosaur out of any type of material and bring it to show your Junior Grange. |
