Community Service

Encourage Junior Granges to get involved in community service. Community Service involves everyone in a community. It is great to hear of all the different projects being done by our Junior Granges. Congratulations to each of them. We still need to continue to encourage every Junior Grange to participate in some form of community service project, no matter how large or small the project, stressing the value and importance of working along with the Subordinate Grange for a common cause helping them and vise versa to attain their goals. Just because your Grange hall is located in one town/community, don't limit yourself to doing good just for that particular place. Maybe another community can also use some help or some of your members live in another community and they need a hand in their community, too. Look and ask around for suggestions what needs to be done. Sometimes the little projects get easily overlooked. Many organizations are already doing community service and always can use extra hands. There is nothing wrong with sharing your abilities with others, no matter who started the project or who gets the credit, it is the doing and the project that matters. If you start a project and need help then ask others to help you. Encourage individuals to participate by helping their neighbors, picking up trash in front of your own house or any other good deed. Be sure to get the proper permission before starting anything.
