Reading Across America

It is time to get your Reading Across America participation forms in. Remember that each Junior Granger that participates will receive a Junior Grange bookmark and a certificate. This can either be a Junior Grange camp activity or a local Junior Grange activity. Please refer to your 2008 program guide or go online for more details.

Also, make sure that each and every Junior Grange member creates a picture from their favorite book for the Creative Art Contest. Along with creative art, don’t forget about the Creative Writing Contest. Select your favorite book and explain what made this book your favorite.

Each year we have increased participation in these contests. Let’s make this year the best ever!

Celebrating 120 Years of Junior Grange

This year we are celebrating 120 years of Junior Grange. At each of the Regional Conferences we celebrated with a Junior Grange Birthday party. Each participant at the conferences was asked to help decorate a quilt square. The quilt will be put together and be on display at the National Grange Convention. We are also having a birthday celebration at the Convention.

Make sure you plan a birthday celebration at your Junior Grange meeting or maybe at your State Convention. Please send me photos of your celebrations. 120 years and still going strong!I hope you are working on earning your special Junior Grange bookmarks.

Regional Conference 2008 - Investing In Experience

Visit the Youth Department web pages for YouTube commecials that the Youth and Juniors created at the Midwestern Conference
The theme for our 2008 Regional Conferences was all about teamwork. Working together with the Youth Department, as well as your Local Community Grange you can make great things happen. It truly takes a team of committed individuals to make a difference. When great things happen, it usually is due to the commitment of a team of individuals. Each conference had it’s own unique flair. But one idea rang through them all. It is all about sharing your enthusiasm of the Grange experience. Every now and then it is important that you recharge your batteries and renew your commitment to Grange.

So next year make sure you attend a Regional Conference near you. I guarantee it will be worth your efforts. Make plans to attend the 2009 Regional Conferences.
