What’s new in 2009? No Child Left Inside

Our theme this year is “No Child Left Inside.” Purpose: We would like to encourage our Juniors to appreciate and enjoy being outside. Children that participate in outside activities are statistically less likely to develop health problems later in life. So this year we are encouraging our Juniors to get outside and become active young people. Let’s move them away from TV and video games and give them the opportunity to become healthy adults.

So this year let’s give our Juniors the gift of good health and encourage them to participate in healthy outdoor activities.

The Juniors will be recognized at the Convention and will be expected to attend all Convention events. This program is designed to recognize Junior Grange Members and to encourage Juniors to experience a National Grange Convention as well as showcase them as exemplary Junior Grange Members.

Attend a Regional Conference This Year - Make Plans Now

These workshops are meant to create opportunities for Leaders and Directors to get together with other Leaders and Directors to share ideas, information, and strategies for successful Junior Grange programming. Your input in these conferences really matters and I encourage you to make every effort to attend. The goal of these conferences is to motivate , inspire, and challenge you to put together a truly successful Junior Grange program.

These workshops will be real roll-up-your-sleeves and get-down-to-work workshops. I would like all State Junior Directors and Junior Leaders to attend. This workshop will be geared towards you.

Regional Conferences are for Older Juniors—Ready for a Challenge

At each conference Juniors have the opportunities to be mentored by youth and young adults from other states as well as participate in a variety of workshops and tours. Also each year Junior have the opportunity to participate in some contests just for them.

  • Junior Regional Public Speaking Contest
  • Share a Skill or Talent Contest
  • Manually Sign the Alphabet Contest.
  • Sign-A-Song Contest.

So encourage your Junior to attend. Click here for more details.
